For the past week, since leaving CRA on May 1st and starting with CHAI on May 11th, I've technically been unemployed. Thus, today marks the last day of my week-long "vacation". I spent my last day of freedom moving into my new apartment, unpacking, and generally getting settled enough to hit the ground running first thing tomorrow morning.
After finishing up this entry, I'm going to go back to my new apartment and continue a tradition that I began with Andrew on July 8, 2007 and hope to continue indefinitely. The night before beginning our jobs in DC almost two years ago, we watched Office Space, thereby setting the bar so low that our office environments could not possibly disappoint. Though my guess is that my new office environment will be a far cry from that in Office Space, I do like the tradition.
Starting tomorrow, as Grampy Jimby would have advised (and my mother likely will advise), I will have good luck, will work extremely hard, and all the while will have a woooonderful time.
